On Wednesday through Sunday nights through May, lovers can feast on a gastronomic getaway in midcoast Maine. Starting at $200 per night per couple, “Savor the Flavor” includes lodging at the Captain Lindsey House Inn, a progressive dinner for two, a hearty breakfast, and discounts at area specialty shops, including Fiore Olive Oils, Atlantic Baking Co., Sweets and Meats Market and Rock City Roasters.
During the “dine around,” guests start noshing on gourmet appetizers at 6 p.m. at the first of three local chef-owned restaurants, all within walking distance of each other and the inns, then feast at two others at 7 and 8 p.m. The participating restaurants are Café Miranda, In Good Company, Amalfi on the Water, Rustica Cucina Italiana, and Lily Bistro.
Rockland’s restaurant scene is booming. This package makes for a great evening of grazing at three spots with distinctive ethnic slants and culinary influences.
If you really want to impress your love bird, consider flying from Boston to Rockland. A round-trip flight via Cape Air’s commuter plane can be added for $150 per person round-trip.
